How to Disable Personalization in Business Central Using Profile Roles

If multiple users are working in the same Business Central environment, keeping the same page layout for everyone can make daily work much easier. Instead of allowing each user to personalize pages, administrators can disable the Personalize option through Profile (Roles).

This is a simple setting that helps keep the interface consistent for users without making any code changes.

If you're planning to manage user profiles, permissions, or Business Central configurations, working with Microsoft Dynamics Services Provider can help you apply the right settings across your organization.

What Does Disable Personalization Do?

When you enable this setting:

  • Users cannot access the Personalize option.
  • Everyone assigned to that profile sees the same page layout.
  • Administrators have better control over the user experience.

Steps to Disable Personalization

Watch this short video and learn it in seconds:

Step 1: Open Profiles (Roles)

  • Search for Profiles (Roles) in Business Central.

Step 2: Select a Profile

  • Open the profile you want to manage, such as Accountant.

Step 3: Disable Personalization

  • Turn on the Disable Personalization option.

Step 4: Check the User

  • Open the user account assigned to that profile. The Personalize option will no longer be available under Settings.

Why Use This Setting?

Disabling personalization helps administrators keep Business Central consistent for every user working under the same role.

  • Keep the same layout for all users.
  • Prevent unwanted page changes.
  • Make user support easier.
  • Create a consistent working experience.

Final Thoughts

This is a small setting, but it can make managing Business Central much easier, especially when multiple users share the same role. It only takes a few clicks to disable personalization and maintain a consistent workspace for your team.
